HURST Jaws of Life has announced the availability of a compact power unit for their 5,000 PSI line of extrication tools that weighs only 52.7 lbs. and delivers the same performance as previous generation models. Weighing 35-50 lbs. less than similar power units, the compact ML 630 SI is engineered to support the operation of two 5,000 PSI extrication tools simultaneously or one tool in turbo mode.

“The roll-out of the ML 630 SI compact power unit this month was highly anticipated,” said Bruce Johnston, director of marketing for HURST Jaws of Life. “It’s easy to see the benefits of a power unit that occupies less space on the truck, is easier to maneuver at the accident scene and delivers the performance needed to get the job done fast.”

The ML 630 SI is engineered specifically for use with HURST Jaws of Life 5,000 PSI extrication tools and should only be operated with HURST Blue Fluid. If the unit is to be used in conjunction with a system currently using MCS-2361 hydraulic fluid, all existing tools and hoses must be flushed and the new unit filled with HURST Blue Fluid.

With the introduction of the ML 630 SI, production of the ML 4G power unit series has been discontinued. Full ML 630 SI specifications can be found at http://www.jawsoflife.com/en/product/ml-630-si-power-unit.
