Who’s behind the tools at HURST Jaws of Life? Team members like Britt Hawkins. She’s a marketer who is also armed with the credentials to teach. She combines those skills to educate the industry about the unstoppable power of HURST Jaws of Life.

After graduating from Western Carolina University with her Bachelor of Science in business administration, Britt received her MBA Plus in marketing from Gardner-Webb University. What does that “Plus” mean? It means she’s qualified to teach college-level courses in marketing, which we think is pretty cool.

She started her career working for her community with the next generation. She served as a WIA youth program coordinator for Isothermal Planning & Development Commission, a community and workforce development program in western North Carolina. Three years later, she joined HURST, where she fuels her passion for serving her community by telling the story behind our life-saving tools.

“Coming into this industry, I had no idea firefighters and first responders were so passionate,” Britt said. “I’ve really formed a strong bond with the industry. I love working with our marketing, customer service and sales teams to help our dealers and end users learn about HURST Jaws of Life.

No two days are the same for Britt. From overseeing product catalog development, helping with marketing collateral creation and managing photo shoots to planning trade shows and working with customer service, Britt’s days are as diverse as HURST’s toolbox. She’s a key communicator in educating everyone — from employee to end user — on the ins and outs and cuts and spreads of HURST Jaws of Life rescue tools. And she loves it.

“This gets in your blood,” Britt says.

If Britt’s not at HURST, she has probably escaped to walk nature trails with her dog and husband. He works for a tool distributor and totally gets her passion for ensuring her customers have the tools essential to their jobs. We totally get it, too, because her passion is our passion.
