Who’s behind the tools at HURST® Jaws of Life? It’s number crunchers like Lauren Baldwin.

Lauren was raised by a family of Clemson Tigers, not leaving her much choice when it was time to make her college decision. With a desire to take care of others and help people in need, Lauren headed to Clemson University with the intention of becoming a doctor. Her career path quickly changed as she took her first accounting class, discovering her passion for finance and computing.

After graduation, the queen of the calculator started looking for jobs near Shelby, North Carolina, to be close to her family. She lucked upon a general accountant position for HURST she found in the local newspaper and the rest, as they say, is history.

Lauren has her own crop of tigers; a 6-year-old son in kindergarten and a daughter who is 1 ½. On her family’s annual vacation to Myrtle Beach this summer, a firefighter saw the HURST logo on her shirt and started a conversation.

“It’s neat; no matter where you go, they know Jaws of Life,” she said. “Putting faces to the names and stations that work with our tools every day is pretty powerful. I’m proud to serve the first responder community.

Whether Lauren is wearing the Clemson or the HURST logo over her heart, she’s proud to represent something she believes in. Thank you, Lauren, for keeping finances in line at headquarters so first responders can keep people safe in the field.
