Who’s behind the tools at HURST Jaws of Life? It’s people like Tracy Hicks, a materials handler who means business.

“Nobody can touch anything without me,” she says with a no-nonsense attitude. “Believe me, when these guys are on a roll, they are good. Really good. And it’s my job to make sure these guys have what they need to build, day in and day out.”

Tracy keeps track of thousands and thousands of part numbers, making sure the machinists, assemblers, service and service training teams have quick and easy access to everything they need. She brings to the job energy, organization and knowledge of what it’s like to be the one on the receiving end of operational organization; she was a licensed technician in the HVAC industry for many years.

With this new career, she also started a new family. She and her husband recently adopted a daughter, and their life at home is filled with things like dance and gymnastics and Fun Runs. Her life at work is filled with all kinds of good stuff, too, she says.

“This is a great place to work. I love it here,” she said. “The people, the atmosphere – you know when you walk in that this is a special place.”
